You are invited to take part in an action to Save Lee Point.
Place – near MLA Joel Bowden’s office and Harris Park, Millner
Time – 7.30 to 8.30am, Thursday 4 April 2024
Parking – behind MLA Joel Bowden’s office (access via Fitzgerald St)
Friends of Lee Point will be joining other groups to wave signs at traffic and make these requests to MLA Joel Bowden (NT Minister for Planning);
- revoke the planning permit for the DHA housing project (to cease land clearing of old-growth forest).
- have the independent NT Planning Commission complete a comprehensive Area Plan for the whole of the Lee Point peninsula that reflects the needs and wishes of the community.
A new Area Plan for Lee Point peninsula is more urgent and a much higher priority than having Casuarina Coastal Reserve as a national park.
We meet at Harris Park 7.30am. There may be some spare signs but it is best to bring your own. Afterwards we plan to have breakfast/morning tea at a place to be decided on the day.
Hope you can make it.
