City of Darwin will now write to Federal Ministers requesting a Senate inquiry into the Lee Point housing project. The motion was moved by Councillor Julie Fraser, seconded by Councillor Edwin Joseph, and carried 7 to 5.
DHA acquired Lyons North or 2CRU (Lot 4873) in May 2014 and Muirhead North (Lot 9370) in 2019. 2CRU was previously Commonwealth land.
Details on community consultation for the rezoning and transfer of disused defence land at Lee Point to DHA remain unclear.
