Friends of Lee Point are proposing that all land at Lee Point be included in a Reserve except for the Resort/Caravan Park.
The proposed areas to be added to a Reserve are inside the dashed lines. Subject to a planning study; the Disused Golf Course (or majority of it) would be included in a Reserve to improve public access to Lee Point.
The proposed Reserve expansion at Lee Point is to help with the:
- conservation of vulnerable/endangered wildlife and habitat
- promotion of ecotourism and preservation of indigenous cultural sites and historical military sites
- increasing visitor use of Casuarina Coastal Reserve (now over 1.4M visits per year) and to improve the public’s access to Lee Point.
The Resort/Caravan Park does not allow pets to help protect wildlife.
