Gayle Laidlaw, the last arrestee from the Apr/May 2024, Lee Point Defence Housing Australia (DHA) land clearing protest, had all her trespassing charges dropped by police on the 11 February 2025.

Ms Laidlaw alleges she was grabbed by security guards employed by DHA, then assaulted before police arrived at the scene. Security then threw her into the back of the police van before being advised she was under arrest for trespassing. She claims at no stage was she able to speak to a DHA representative or asked to leave the site.
Gayle had been on bail for the last 9 months which meant she could not visit certain parts of Lee Point. Two other Lee Point arrestees had their Lee Point trespassing charges dropped in Nov 2024.
Ms Laidlaw was due to go to court on the 17 and 18 Feb and be defended by Barrister Tom Clelland and Solicitor Clancey Dane.
Further legal action is being considered.
