Jonathan PARRY

Australian Greens

YES

The clearing of old-growth forest at Lee Point would be a national disgrace. The proposed Defence Force Housing must not proceed until the full impacts of the destruction of the Lee Point wildlife corridor are understood.
The Greens are the only party that can be trusted to Save Lee Point.

Country Liberal

Benjamin CRAKER

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation

YES

Lee Point must be preserved and rehabilitated for future generations—to shield us from urban heat islands, provide a haven for wildlife, and serve as a sanctuary for locals, bird watchers, mountain bikers and bush walkers. The surrounding green corridors and rural areas must be preserved to protect our territory way of life.

Phil SCOTT

Independent

YES

Regardless of whether I’m elected or not, I will continue to do what’s in my power, and to empower our community, to advocate for a moratorium until other locations are independently evaluated for long-term public benefit. This would ensure the best environmental, financial, health and social outcomes for our community.

This project commenced planning in 2014 to meet the critical housing needs for ADF members and families to support defence capability and local residents.
Support is based upon the maintenance of planning and environmental legislation compliance. Luke delivered significant conservation measures, securing 33.9 ha of land for conservation purposes and a 50-metre-wide wildlife corridor around the dam.
